The foreign nationals visiting Iran are required to take the following measures (At least two months prior to their travel) for getting the Visa on arrival or regular visa:
Visa on Arrival
- Apply for an electronic visa by clicking on the following link: [NEW APPLICATION].
- You must submit a hardcopy of Submission Notice to the Visa-On-Arrival counter at Imam Khomeini Airport. The notice will be available when you have completed online visa application form. If you have already completed the form, Submission Notice will be available through following link: [CHECK APPLICATION STATUS].
- Citizens of foreign countries, who are entitled to obtain visas at border checkpoints, must pay visa fee through banking terminals at airport in Euros.
Note: All visitors to Iran must hold a passport or travel document valid for 6 months at the time of departure.
All types of visa defined by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran can be applied for through the online visa application portal [Click here]. Having the reference code, you will refer to the consulate with your passport (which must be valid for the next 6 months), the completed visa application form (which can be picked from the consulate or be downloaded from their website), 2 new passport size photos (with covered hair for ladies, at some consulates), the visa fee (which depends on your nationality) and the authorization reference code, (Always check the needed documents with the consulate, as there may be differences from one consulate to another.)
